This illustration highlights the charting the rise of Pakistan’s electronic music scene. Shado Magazine is a multimedia platform driving change at the intersection of arts, activism and academia. Having worked with Shado in the past, I wanted to ensure within the illustration that I produced that it was able to highlight the themes of vibrancy and and electric range of genres many Pakistani musicians produce. Making references to key words and references to the lyrics used in some of the Boiler Room sets in an illustration allowed myself to explore a range of avenues.
As this article covered a variety of themes, I had explored these themes and contexts to ensure the the brief was visualised in an appropriate way.
These ideas have been translated into visual forms.
